Key Asia Pacific and Middle East appointments announced (30/05/2006)
British Airways World Cargo today announced its new commercial management team in Asia Pacific and the Middle East as part of the carrier's global middle management restructure.
The following appointments are effective from 1 June 2006:
- Ian Barrigan, regional commercial manager, Southern (Middle East, Africa and Southern Asia)
- Chris Chan, regional commercial manager, Asia Pacific
- Mat Burton, area cargo manager, India and Nepal
- Rory Black, area commercial manager, Japan and Korea
Baba Devani, vice president sales and international customer service, BA World Cargo, said: "These appointments were undertaken to meet key commercial challenges in Asia Pacific and the Middle East and are designed to enhance our customer offering in the region by reducing the complexity of our organisation and improving our time to market.
"BA World Cargo has a strong offering in this area and this more streamlined approach to our business will allow the new team to get closer to customers and better understand their needs."
BA World Cargo's new management structure in this region is part of a global management reorganisation by British Airways that will drive costs out of the business and follows a similar global senior management restructure undertaken in February 2006.
