British Airways World Cargo Update on IATA Resolution 502 (16/09/2002)

British Airways World Cargo would like to inform its customers that the change to IATA resolution 502, referring to the proposed amendment of the industry standard formula for air cargo volume conversion, continues to be subject to government approvals.

The initial IATA government filing period, which closed on 06 September 2002, has now been extended to allow further consultation by respective governmental bodies.

Following representations from British Airways World Cargo and other parties, IATA has advised a new implementation date for no earlier than 01 October 2003 (subject to government approvals). This will allow British Airways World Cargo and its customers more time for consultation on this important issue.
