British Airways World Cargo adds capacity to the Kenyan Market (13/02/2004)

British Airways World Cargo (BAWC) has announced the expansion of its operations in Africa with an increase in services between London's Heathrow Airport and Nairobi.

There will be an additional three daylight flights on Wednesday and Friday mornings and Sunday afternoons operating to Nairobi. On the return sector, there will be additional fligts on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

The introduction of the B767 services, in addition to the daily B747-400 service and weekly B747-400 freighter service, will assist in meeting increasing customer demand both to and from the region.

The services will add significantly to capacity levels in the region and will also provide customers in the Kenyan market with connections to the British Airways worldwide network.

Paul Stonehouse BAWC's Area Manager East Africa and Seychelles said: "We believe that the additional services will provide our customers with a significant increase in capacity and this decision reinforces the airline's commitment to the area. Customers who are shipping both perishable and general cargo will benefit from the higher frequency of flights and BAWC's comprehensive global reach."

The services are expected to begin during the week commencing 28th March 2004.
