New Face in Africa for British Airways World Cargo (23/06/2004)

Steve Smith will be starting a new appointment as Area Manager Africa. This follows David Shepherd's recent move to become Area Manager Europe.

Based in Johannesburg, Steve's new position follows previous roles in Revenue Management and Operations at London Heathrow. Most recently, he was Manager Delivery Planning with responsibility for Ascentis Flight Planning and the Global Recovery Teams.

Tony Nothman, Regional Vice President UK & Ireland, Europe and Africa, welcomed the appointment: "Steve's skills make him a real asset to our team and he will play a significant part in growing our business in this key market. Our performance has been strong and it's important that we maintain and improve on this in the year ahead."
