British Airways World Cargo to Increase Fuel Surcharge (13/10/2005)
British Airways World Cargo today announced that it has increased its fuel surcharge to GBP0.40/kg / USD0.60/kg / EUR0.60/kg, effective 27th October 2005.
The increase to the fuel surcharge has been caused by the continued rise in fuel prices, causing the fuel index to exceed the level 12 threshold for two consecutive weeks.
The index was developed by British Airways World Cargo to provide customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges. It is updated on a weekly basis and posted on the baworldcargo.com website.
To provide clarity for our customers in the event of further significant fuel price increases, British Airways World Cargo is also announcing two additional surcharge increments, as detailed in the table below.
