Fuel Surcharge Decrease (17/11/2005)
British Airways World Cargo today announced a decrease to its fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be GBP 0.34/kg / USD 0.50/kg / EUR 0.50/kg, with effect from 1st December.
The fuel surcharge decrease follows a second consecutive week that the fuel index has been below the level 10 threshold. The index was developed by BA World Cargo to provide customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges. It is updated on a weekly basis and posted on the British Airways World Cargo website.
Keith Packer, Senior Vice President Commercial, said: "Despite fuel prices remaining at an extremely high level, the stabilisation of the market is
visible through two fuel surcharge decreases in two consecutive weeks. This is a welcome reprieve for the industry. BA World Cargo is continuing to
follow its fuel index methodology."
