Fuel surcharge increase (01/11/2007)
British Airways World Cargo today announced an increase to its fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be GBP0.48/kg / USD0.70/kg / EUR0.70/kg, with effect from 15 November, 2007.
The fuel surcharge increase follows a second consecutive week that the fuel index has been above the level 14 threshold. The index has been developed to provide customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges. It is updated on a weekly basis and posted on baworldcargo.com
Adam Carson, senior manager revenue management, said: "As a result of ongoing increases in fuel prices, which directly impact the costs of providing airfreight, it has been necessary to raise the fuel surcharge in accordance with our published index and policy."
