Statement on fuel surcharge (18/09/2008)

British Airways World Cargo has announced a reduction to its fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be GBP0.69/USD1.05/EUR1.05 with effect from 02 October 2008.

The fuel surcharge reduction follows a second consecutive week that the fuel index has been below the level 21 threshold. We developed the index to provide customers with more information about how we calculate our fuel surcharges. It is updated every week and posted on this website.

Adam Carson, senior manager revenue management, said: "While high fuel prices remain a very real challenge for the industry, over recent weeks prices have been steadily falling. This has triggered a fourth consecutive decrease in our fuel surcharge in line with the index."
