British Airways World Cargo to Increase Fuel Surcharge (25/08/2005)
British Airways World Cargo today announced that it has increased its fuel surcharge to GBP0.34/kg or local currency equivalent, effective 8th September 2005.
The increase to the fuel surcharge has been caused by the continued rise in fuel prices, causing the fuel index to exceed the level 10 threshold for two consecutive weeks. The index was developed by British Airways World Cargo to provide customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges. It is updated on a weekly basis and posted on the baworldcargo.com website. To provide clarity for our customers in the event of further significant fuel price increases, British Airways World Cargo is also announcing two additional surcharge increments Level 11 and Level 12, as detailed in the Rates & Surcharges section.
