Flying your Pets
Transportation of a much-loved pet can be a worrying experience. With British Airways World Cargo you have the reassurance that you are dealing with experienced professionals and when your pet flies with us, it will experience a caring and reliable service.

This product information refers to the transportation of domestic pets. Making a booking for your Pet

Your Pet travels as cargo:
Our Unaccompanied Pets service is a cargo terminal to cargo terminal product. Your pet must be checked in at the cargo facility by you, and collected from the cargo facility by you or a nominated person. Pets are carried in the cargo hold, which is located underneath the passenger cabin. This hold is temperature controlled and provides a comfortable environment during flight. The hold is not lit, because experience shows that pets quickly settle down and travel better in the dark. Pets are not permitted in the passenger cabin.


Flexibility:
You can make a booking from two weeks before departure, subject to available capacity. Your pet can be checked in two and a half hours before the flight departure time, giving you plenty of time to board if you are on the same flight.

We ensure that your pet is well taken care of - we give you advice on preparing for the journey to ensure that your pet is as comfortable as possible throughout its flight.

British Airways World Cargo gives you access to the World's largest route network with nearly 200 destinations in over 80 countries.

Flights operated by BA mainline and BA CitiExpress only.

How do I make a booking?

Flying my Pets:
Call your local British Airways World Cargo reservations office (in the UK call 08457 222 777). They will check flight availability and advise you of check-in times. You need to have the dimensions and weight of the container (including the weight of your pet). Reservations can be made within 14 days of flight departure. Details of the person who will collect the pet at the final destination will also be required.
